This is one of my earlier shots of the Moon, taken in 1982 (exact date not recorded). It was taken by holding a Pentax ME Super SLR (with a 50mm F2 lens) up to the eyepiece of a Criterion 6 inch Dynascope (6 inch F8 reflector). The eyepiece was a Meade MA 40mm Extra Wide Field. I don't recall if the film was 100 or 400 speed, but it was Kodak. I let the camera choose the exposure time (again I am not sure of the exact exposure). At the time I was quite surprised to see how well this "camera up to the eyepiece" method worked. In fact, I now often prefer it for high power lunar photography since it eliminates vibration from mirror and shutter "slap" as compared to using a T-adapter.
