Here is a shot of the globular cluster M56 in Lyra, resolved with a 2.4 inch telescope! This is one of several deep sky shots I have taken with the 2.4 inch Tasco scope (click here for a shot of M13 through the 2.4"). Visually, M56 shows no hint of resolution in the 2.4" at any magnification (however in the CG-11 at 311x resolution of M56 is well underway). This photo was taken on TMAX 400 film, about 10 minutes exposure, with guiding through the CG-11 at 311x. The location was my backyard in Oakdale, CT, USA, where the light pollution is moderate.
